Firefighters rescued six hikers from two East Honolulu trails today.

In the first incident, which happened about 3:30 p.m., a man in his 20s was airlifted off Koko Crater Trail. The man was unresponsive, but officials could not immediately say how he was injured.

He was near the top of the stairs.

Around the same time, five hikers reported being lost off Kuliouou Ridge Trail.

Fire Capt. Terry Seelig, HFD spokesman, said the hikers were guided out around 7 p.m.
