High surf advisory for Oahu's south and Leeward shores extended

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the south shores of Oahu and the Waianae coast.

Wave faces on the south shore surf will reach 5 to 8 feet, producing rip currents and some beach erosion.

The advisory is in effect until noon Friday and also includes areas on Niihau, Kauai, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe and Hawaii island.
