Hawaii island police are looking for a man who tried to rob a Kona gas station Wednesday night.
Police said shortly before midnight the man entered the Chevron on Lako Street with a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. The 46-year-old man working behind the counter refused to give any money, and the gunman ran to a light-colored four-door sedan that took off in an unknown direction, police said.
The man was in his late teens to early 20s, between 150 and 160 pounds, and with a fair complexion. He wore a dark, hooded sweatshirt, shorts, shoes, and mirrored sunglasses.
Police advised the public not to approach the man.
