A 46-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly attacking another man four months earlier after the victim spotted him near downtown and called police.
Police said the assailant was arguing with the victim on March 6 in the Dillingham area and then brandished a hammer and shattered the rear side window of the victim’s vehicle.
The man then attacked the victim with the hammer and fled. The victim, a 53-year-old man, sustained hand and shoulder injuries in the attack. He called police, but officers couldn’t find the assailant.
On Tuesday, the victim saw the man on Beretania Street and called police. Officers arrested the younger man for investigation of first-degree criminal property damage and first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
