Ala Moana vying for ’America’s favorite park’

The city government hasn't helped Ala Moana Regional Park's chances of winning by recently excludingdogt and cat shows from its facilities. The public really enjoyed attending AKC and CFA pet shows. They brought positive publicity and international media attention to the park, without causing anyone harm or inconvenience. Another example of a short-sighted city bureaucracy in action.

What? They want to name Ala Moana one of the best? They've got to be on some strong Ayahuasca or LSD. If it was suggested by the governor if would be understanable, he's high on dope anyway.

Honolulu city officials are hoping Ala Moana Regional Park gets voted as “America’s favorite park.” That sounds like the city’s position on a lot of civic issues: hoping instead of action, reactive instead of proactive. There has been a lot written in the news lately about Peter Carlisle’s position on urban matters. City Councilwoman Ann Kobayashi recently opined, “Our parks and restrooms are in really terrible condition. Some of these bathrooms have not been fixed in years. And our playgrounds are closed for months or longer. But the administration is rushing to build the rail as quickly as possible”.
