Police open murder case after man's body found with gunshot wound in Waipahu

Police have opened a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of 42-year-old man at a Waipahu park late Saturday night.

The man had been shot at least once, police said. Officers discovered the body in a parked vehicle about 11:45 p.m. at Honowai Neighborhood Park, police said.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The city medical examiners office has not disclosed the man's name, or the cause and manner of his death.

No suspects have been identified.
