Maui firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire that burned about two acres of dry brush at the Maui Lani Parkway and reached the Maui Lani Golf Course driveway at 5:16 p.m. Monday.

The fire came within 50 feet of homes, said Lee Mainaga, Maui Fire Department spokesman.

Fire reached the mauka side of the road at one spot but it was quickly extinguished by firefighters, Mainaga said.

A cause has not yet been determined. There were no monetary damage reports and no injuries.
