Matson Inc. announced today that it will drop its fuel surcharge for Hawaii ocean cargo service by 3 percentage points, from 42 percent to 39 percent, effective Sunday.
The company, which carries most cargo shipped to the state, said a decrease in bunker fuel prices prompted the move.
Matson in June reduced its fuel surcharge by 3.5 percentage points, after an increase of 5 percentage points in February.
