Hawaiian Airlines topped the nation’s 15 largest carriers in on-time performance in May with 94.7 percent of its flights arriving on time, according to the Air Travel Consumer Report issued today by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Hawaiian exceeded the industry average of 83.4 percent.
In other categories, Hawaiian was second for fewest flight cancellations with three cancellations out of 6,246 total flights, or less than 0.1 percent; ninth for mishandled baggage with 1,957 reports, or 2.63 per 1,000 passengers; and 10th in consumer complaints with seven, or 0.90 per 100,000 passengers.
