By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

The owners of a Kalihi Valley mom-and-pop store were assaulted with sticks and robbed by three men in their 20s Monday night, police said.

A woman, 56, was taken to an area hospital in fair condition. A man, 63, was treated at the scene and released following the 9 p.m. incident at the Kalihi Street market, according to a spokesman for the city Department of Emergency Services.

The robbery occurred at Ono’s Market at 1912 Kalihi St.

Police said the three men entered the store, assaulted the two owners with sticks, took cash and other merchandise, and then fled on foot.

No descriptions of the suspects other than their gender and approximate ages were made available.

Too bad that the store owners didn't shoot these crumbs as they would have been justified.

They could have just taken the money, but NO, they had to bust up these poor people who are only trying to make a living. Now, they're going to be doubly punished by having to pay for their own medical expenses. This is what happens when these animals are not taught right from wrong from a young age. Even if they are caught, watch our criminal "justice" system let them off with a slap on the wrist. This is likely just the beginning of their life of crime. It's only a matter of time before someone loses their life at the hands of these malcontents. Count on it.

Likely that the victims were the only people who saw the robbers, and were too afraid to provide a description to the police.

Evolution has not helped these species, as they still practice "hunt and prey" games. They will meet someone who will be prepared for them and then they will be losing their lives. Odds are not in their favor.

I hope they catch those thugs. Unfortunately they will be given a lenient sentence. I suspect that they have a long rap sheet from since juvenile days. We need to get tough on these types of criminals who physically assaut and/or rob innocent victims.
