Small brush fire closes Kahului road for hour

A small brush fire closed both lanes of Mauilani Parkway for about an hour Tuesday in Kahului.
Maui firefighters were sent to behind Pomaikai Elementary School about 12:15 p.m. and brought the half-acre fire under control at 12:33 p.m.
Both lanes of Maui Parkway were reopened at 12:57 p.m.
