Honolulu police were investigating a pedestrian accident in Nanakuli Saturday and trying to identify the victim, who went to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the man was crossing Farrington Highway near Lualualei just before 10 p.m. when he walked into the path of a vehicle driven by a Waianae woman.

The man was not in a crosswalk.

Police said speed, alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors for the driver.

Police closed the Honolulu-bound lanes of Farrington Highway near the Nanakuli McDonald's until about 1 a.m. while they investigated the crash.
