A 26-year-old Manoa man attacked his father with a sword Tuesday night in a Manoa home, police said.

The incident occurred at about 10 p.m. at an Oahu Avenue home.

"It gladdens me to know that Baldr’s father [Odin] makes ready the benches for a banquet. Soon we shall be drinking ale from the curved horns. The champion who comes into Odin’s dwelling [Valhalla] does not lament his death. I shall not enter his hall with words of fear upon my lips. The Æsir will welcome me. Death comes without lamenting... Eager am I to depart. The Dísir summon me home, those whom Odin sends for me [Valkyries] from the halls of the Lord of Hosts. Gladly shall I drink ale in the high-seat with the Æsir. The days of my life are ended. I laugh as I die."

Must have been a toy sword or it was in its scabbard. A real sword strike to the head should be fatal.

Gee, when I look at some of these police and fire reports, I wonder how it is determined that some get comments to be allowed (I mean for the forum to comment on), some do not, and some do not even make it to breaking news.

Attempted Murder is getting it too far. I think the son's conviction, if the son agrees to a plea deal would be downgraded to Terroristic Threatening or Assault. Of course, this case will not be followed by HSA, unless there is no other news to report.
