Homeless man charged with assault on police officer

By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

A 59-year-old homeless man went to District Court for his initial appearance this morning to face a charge of assault on a police officer.

Police said Floyd Lim attacked an officer with a tree branch and had to be subdued by pepper spray at 9:05 a.m. Thursday near Moiliili Field.

His bail was set at $1,000.

Officers responded after a woman reported that the suspect jumped in front of her car on Isenberg Street. The woman told police the suspect was yelling and waving at her as she drove on King Street.

When an officer tried to talk to the suspect, he became agitated, grabbed a tree branch and hit the officer on his arm, police said.

Police arrested the man after the officer used pepper spray on him.

Hit an officer with a tree branch? I'd like to see a mug shot of the guy. I'm sure pepper spray was not the only thing used to subdue him!
