Man indicted in deadly car crash is arrested for allegedly smashing window

By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

A man wanted for allegedly causing a five-car crash in Kunia last year while driving drunk and speeding was arrested Saturday after he allegedly shattered the glass window of a Kahala business during an argument with his girlfriend.

Police said Pulu Sese, 22, was arguing with his girlfriend when he punched the glass, causing it to shatter about 8 p.m. Saturday. A witness notified store employees, who called police.

Officers found Sese a short distance away and arrested him at Kahala Mall for investigation of second-degree criminal property damage and two counts of first-degree negligent homicide.

An Oahu grand jury returned an indictment July 19 charging Sese with two counts of negligent homicide, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said Sese caused the Jan. 1, 2011, crash that killed Jennifer Parsons, 42, of Waianae, and Samson Kautai, 12, of Kaneohe.

A deputy prosecutor told a circuit judge that Sese was speeding on Kunia Road and passing other vehicles when he crashed his car into Parsons’ oncoming vehicle. Sese’s car overturned, ejecting him and Kautai, who was a rear-seat passenger in the car.

Kautai and Parsons died at the scene.

Police said the car Sese was trying to pass veered to the right, spun into the opposite lane of traffic and was hit broadside by a pickup. The car behind Parsons was hit by debris, veered to the right and struck a dirt embankment.

Sese went to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition. His other passengers — male teenagers 19, 17 and 14 — and the drivers of the pickup and the car Sese was trying to pass went to Queen's in serious condition.

The deputy prosecutor said Sese’s blood-alcohol content was 0.08, the legal threshold for drunken driving. Police calculated his car was traveling 78 mph in a 35 mph zone.

According to state court records, police stopped Sese on March 22 this year and cited him for speeding and driving without his driver's license or insurance card. The case is pending.

Sese has no Aloha. Please send him to Arizona where he can dine on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches three times a day for the term of his incarceration.

Would like to see him clean up his mess with a toothbrush on Kunia Road for a few years. How could he be authorized to have a license or own a car when he is so completely irresponsible? What is he so angry about that he has to cause such destruction? He needs to DO something with his life instead of his life putting everyone else at risk of HIS irrational thinking.
