By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

A state judge sentenced Zachary Robinson this morning to 30 years in prison for the fatal beating of an 85-year-old woman and savage attack of the woman’s 40-year-old caregiver.

The 30-year-term is the sentence to which Robinson, 21, agreed when he pleaded guilty last year to manslaughter and first-degree assault.

Circuit Judge Richard Pollack sentenced Cody Mikami, 23, to 20 years in prison for his role in the beating and attack plus five years for assault.

Mary Lee Koskinen was beaten in her Waialae Nui home on Jan. 21, 2010. She died two weeks later.

Koskinen’s live-in caregiver, Matthew Edmonson, was taken to a hospital in critical condition with a broken jaw and fractures to his face and head.
