Man arrested following theft in Waianae construction yard

A 49-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal batteries out of heavy equipment from a secured construction site on St. John's Road in Waianae Thursday morning.
Police responding to an anomyous call arrived on the scene shortly after the 5 a.m. and found a man taking items from the construction site and loading them into a van.
The suspect was arrested and is being held pending a theft charge.
