Chinatown man arrested in car stolen from used car lot, police say

Police arrested a 48-year-old Chinatown man who allegedly stole a vehicle from a used car lot.

Officers stopped the man in Waialua for excessive speeding and discovered a glass pipe and what appeared to be methamphetamine in his vehicle at about 12:45 p.m. Friday, police said.

Police arrested him near Farrington Highway and Mount Kaala Road for investigation of car theft and two drug offenses.

For Hawaii anything over one mile above the limit is technically speeding. Excessive comes into play when you are 30 miles over the limit or above 80. That results in jail time now.
