A 39-year-old Leeward Oahu homeless woman is a suspect in two forgery cases in which police say someone stole checks from mailboxes and tried to cash them at banks.
Police said the suspect allegedly stole checks from mailboxes of a 49-year-old Waianae woman on June 15 and a 64-year-old Kapolei woman on June 27. Police arrested her Tuesday in Waianae.
The woman was booked for investigation of second-degree forgery, two counts of second-degree theft and unauthorized possession of personal information.
