The Honolulu Fire Department’s helicopter rescued a fisherman early this morning after his 17-foot boat ran around on the reef near the entrance to the Keehi Lagoon channel.
Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said the fisherman ran aground at 3:45 a.m. on the east side of the channel.
The Fire Department’s helicopter airlifted the man off his boat at 4:20 a.m. He was not injured.
