Honolulu police reopened Kamehameha Highway in both directions near Heeia Kea Pier just in time for the morning commute.

Police closed the highway at about 1 a.m. after a traffic accident and re-opened it just after 5 a.m.

A Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman said a motor vehicle hit a utility pole.

Crews went out to the scene and repaired the pole.

No serious injuries or power outages were reported.

While Hawaiian Electric Co. crews were on scene, Kaneohe-bound traffic was turned around from 47-004 Kamehameha Highway, while Kahuku-bound traffic was turned around from 47-025 Kamehameha Highway.
