Semi-trailer truck and compact car collide on Hawaii island

Two men were hospitalized in North Hawaii Community Hospital following a collision between a semi-trailer truck and a compact sedan Monday afternoon in Waimea.
The Hawaii County Fire Department said the traffic accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Kawaihae Road near the 61 mile marker.
Taken to the hospital were the driver of the sedan, a 22-year-old man; and the driver of the truck, a 60-year-old man.
No condition of either drivers was released by the fire department.
