Members of the City Council’s Transportation Committee joined Handi-Van riders today in criticizing the way the transit service for people with disabilities has operated in recent years, and warned that the situation will only worsen with the recent cuts to TheBus.

City Transportation Services Director Wayne Yoshioka said he agrees that the situation is “not acceptable” but that the city is working to correct it.
“We are not happy with the way things are operating,” he said.
Passengers said their complaints about delays, overcrowding and poor maintenance are long-standing and that they are growing increasingly frustrated.
