No. 9 Hawaii tops San Diego State in volleyball

Jane Croson put down a team-high 21 kills and the ninth-ranked Hawaii women's volleyball team overcame a slow start to defeat San Diego State 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 in tonight's second match of the Verizon Challenge at the Stan Sheriff Center. 

Ali Longo had 22 digs and Jade Vorster was in on six blocks for the Rainbow Wahine (6-1).

Hawaii will face Idaho in Saturday's second match. The Vandals (2-6) were swept by No. 3 UCLA (4-1) in today's first match 25-16, 25-13, 25-13. 

Summer Nash led the Aztecs (5-1) with 21 kills and Andrea Hannasch added 10. Kristi Jackels had a match-high 23 digs.
