Mayor to lead 9/11 remembrance walk

By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

The annual Mayor's Remembrance Walk in observance of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks is planned for Sunday afternoon. A procession and ceremonies at various stops are scheduled to recognize police, fire and emergency personnel and agencies.

Mayor Peter Carlisle will lead the walk, beginning at 5 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance by Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and a wreath presentation at the Honolulu Police Department on Beretania Street. Police Chief Louis Kealoha will speak and a colorguard, blessing and Celtic Pipes and Drums performance will round out the ceremony before the procession heads to the Honolulu Fire Department headquarters on Queen Street and then on to Honolulu Hale.

Parking will be available at the Frank Fasi Municipal Parking Structure (enter from Alapai or Beretania streets).

I didn't know Peter was still around. Not a word from him since the courts ruled his man Bill Aila was wrong to have them start construction on this and Mufi's choo choo train.
