Fire danger nets Hawaii second red flag warning in a week

The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for leeward areas of all islands because of increased fire danger.

Forecasters say strong trade winds, with gusts up to 30 mph, and dry conditions are creating critical fire weather conditions with rapid fire growth potential.

The warning is in effect until 6 p.m.

The breezy trade winds will likely stay with us for the next few days. Showers may visit windward and mauka areas though there's only a slight chance of leeward showers for Hawaii island. Otherwise, the chance of rainfall will decrease by midweek.
