Medical examiners have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday in Ewa Villages as Elcid Cabangon, 45, of Kapolei.
Examiners have classified the death as an accident although toxicology results are pending.
Witnesses said the motorcycle may have been speeding.
Police said Cabangon was driving a 2010 Yamaha motorcycle west on Kapolei Parkway when it lost control, crossed a grassy median and continued into the path of a 2001 Ford F-150 truck traveling in the opposite direction about 2/10ths of a mile east of Renton Road about 12:20 p.m.
The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, police said.
The truck driver was not injured.
Cabangon’s death was the 45th on Oahu roads so far this year compared with at this time a year ago. It was the 14th involving a motorcycle victim.
