Girl in serious condition after falling out of car in Waimalu

A 17-year-old girl was taken to a hospital in critical condition following an incident on Kamehameha Highway early Thursday morning in Waimalu.

Emergency Medical Services official said the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition just before 3 a.m. Her condition was later upgraded to serious.

Police said the victim was arguing with a man when she fell out of the car on Kamehameha Highway and Hekaha Street.

A 20-year-old man Papakolea man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving near the Waimalu Shopping Center.
