Jim Boersema, Gov. Neil Abercrombie's communications director, will leave the post at the end of September.

Boersema, hired after a staff shake-up last year, said he had made a one-year commitment to help the governor organize his communications team and message.

The veteran public relations adviser said he would focus on his work with Unity House, the nonprofit labor group.

Nobody wants to stick with Abs for long. That says a lot about the faith and trust of his own people. But when you see such political abortions as the PLDC, you understand why the folks are always jumping ship.

Another one bites the dust. Wot, Neil -- you "not his pal?" He'd rather work for a non-profit than the governor? If people know you by the compnay you keep, you don't seem to be keeping many. Seems like another lifetime ago when you were jogging down median strips with a sign saying, "I'm Neil Abercrombie, and I'm Running For You." Now, it looks like everyone is running FROM you. Whose fault is that?

Wasn't Unity House at one time created by a Rutledge who ran some worker unions Yes, it is called "non-profit" but if union was involved, got to have $$$$$ tied somewhere in that organization?
