By Norman P. Aquino

Bloomberg News

POSTED:

U.S. citizens face a threat in the Philippines, particularly in Pasay City south of the capital, the U.S. Embassy said on its website today, citing “reliable security forces.”

The U.S. urged its citizens to maintain a low profile and report security concerns to Philippine authorities.

“The U.S. ambassador has ordered an augmented security profile for all U.S. government facilities in Manila,” according to the statement, which didn’t give details on the specific threat. The warnings remains in effect until Oct. 10, according to the statement.

Philippine police will coordinate with the embassy for appropriate security measures, spokesman Generoso Cerbo said in a mobile-phone message today.

Anti-American sentiments world-wide have grown, especiallly in Islamic states, due the number of un-popular wars we have been engaged in the past several decades. Anti-American sentiments were very strong pre and post Viet Nam era, where the slogan, "Yankee Go Home" was voiced vociferously in the South East Asia region. Being a Super Power has its down-side.

History remembers we supported many tyrants for decades. Remember why we had the Vietnam War? Today the Egyptians did not forget our strong support for Mubarak.

Obama has been an absolute failure! This is what happens when you elect a community organizer to the highest office in the land. Nobody should be surprised. Four more years of this guy and America will look like France, with 75% income tax rates.
