Man arrested on sex assault counts after offering to teach women to surf

A man was arrested after he was accused of touching them inappropriately after offering to give them surfing lessons in Waikiki on Monday afternoon.

Police said the Kaheka area man, 38, approached two women and offered to give them free surfing lessons at about 5:15 p.m. Monday. After taking them out a short distance on his surfboard, he made inappropriate contact with them, police said.

The man was arrested near Kalakaua Avenue about 6:45 p.m. and is being held on two counts of third-degree sex assault.
