No tsunami from Alaska quake

An earthquake of preliminary magnitude-4.2 near Haines, Alaska poses no tsunami threat to Hawaii.

Centered 50 miles southwest of Haines, Alaska, the earthquake struck at 6:29 a.m. today at a depth of two miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

No injuries were reported.
