The two candidates vying for a U.S. Senate seat in November plan to meet tonight in their first televised debate.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono and Republican former Gov. Linda Lingle are scheduled to face off at 7 p.m. tonight on KHON in a debate co-sponsored by the Hawaii chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons.
If the debate follows the themes that have emerged during the race, Hirono will try to link Lingle with national Republicans and Mitt Romney, the presidential nominee trying to stop President Barack Obama from winning re-election.
Lingle will try to paint Hirono as a candidate who doesn't understand the local or national issues she'd face decisions about as a U.S. Senator. She'll also link Hirono with a Congress with an abysmal record and low approval ratings.
For 6 years we have paid your salary....more than a million bucks so far.
We have provided a super generous health care package at our cost.
We have provided you a retirement plan for life....way better than anything we will ever see.
We have covered all expenses and made life very comfy for you.
What have you accomplished for us in that 6 years? Did you get even one - one! - bill passed to help us? As your employer, I want to know what I got for my money. "Working collaboratively" doesn't cut it....I want something to show for all that money. What have you been doing to earn your pay?

such as when she personally took charge of the thingy when it really needed a lot of hope and change. you can see for yourself how much better it is not that she led the efforts to improve it. and wait until you hear about her other stuff she did or wanted to do or was told by inouye to do or not do.
