Crash critically injures mo-ped rider in Kahaluu

A man was critically injured Sunday afternoon when the mo-ped he was operating crashed in Kahaluu.

The Kaneohe man, 44, was riding on Mahakea Rd. when he crashed into a mailbox, was ejected, then hit a parked truck. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m.

The rider was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The mo-ped rider was not wearing a helmet. Alchohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
