Motorcyclist dies after crash in Salt Lake

By Star-Advertiser staff

A motorcyclist died last night after losing control and crashing in Salt Lake, according to police.

At around 11 p.m., the Honolulu man was leaving the Halsey Terrace Community Center parking lot when he lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected, police said.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead. Police said speed may have been a factor, though it is unknown if alcohol was involved.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

The accident is the 49th fatality on Oahu this year compared to 46 at the same time last year.
