Mexico remains the top travel destination for the U.S. market, according to the Mexico Ministry of Tourism and the Mexico Tourism Board.
The entities cite the promotional strategies implemented in international markets for a 4.1 percent increase in international visitors from January through July 2012, over the year-before period. Spending increased by 7.2 percent.
Intent of North Americans to travel to Mexico grew 5.3 percent compared to the same period last year, they said.
