Hawaii Kai Drive reopened to traffic

Board of Water Supply crews have completed repairs to a 12-inch water main break in Hawaii Kai that caused the early closure of Kamiloiki Elementary School and all lanes of Hawaii Kai Drive are now open to traffic.

The road had been closed since 10 a.m. Wednesday, when the water main broke at 7788 Hawaii Kai Dr., fronting Kamiloiki School. 

The elementary school reopened this morning.

Students were sent home at about 10 a.m. Wednesday because there was no water at the school. 

More than 200 homes were without water as a result of the break.
