Shark sighting closes Big Beach at Makena, Maui

Maui lifeguards closed Big Beach in Makena for two hours after a shark was sighted within 15 feet of shore Saturday afternoon.
A lifeguard reported seeing the shark around 3 p.m. while he was swimming a few yards offshore.
The beach was reopened just after 5 p.m.
