Waikele mulch fires bedevil firefighters

Firefighters were kept busy extinguishing two mulch fires in Waikele near the H-1 Freeway offramp over the past two days.
The latest fire occurred at 2 a.m. today near the Waikele Golf Club.
The previous fire was reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the same vicinty.
Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said the two fires are not related. Neither fire was suspicious in nature but involved piles of mulch.
