Same gunman may have robbed stores in Nanakuli, Waikiki

Police are looking into the possibility that the same man is responsible for the armed robberies of stores in Waikiki and Nanakuli in recent days.

About 11:05 P.m. Wednesday, a man entered Lono’s Hawaiian Jewelry at 2125 Kalakaua Avenue, showed a handgun, and demanded money. He fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds, and having brown eyes. Police said the man was wearing a black hoodie, gray shorts and white shoes.

On Monday, a man fitting a similar description robbed a convenience store in Nanakuli.

A man believed to be between 20 and 30 entered the Fastop at 87-2130 Farrington Highway at 11:30 p.m., poice said. The suspect approached the cashier, brandished a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect is described as 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds.
