Hawaii turns back Long Beach State in volleyball

Emily Hartong had a season-high 33 kills to lead No. 9 Hawaii to a 24-26, 34-32, 26-24, 25-22 victory over Long Beach State in a Big West volleyball match tonight in Long Beach, Calif.

The Rainbow Wahine (18-2, 11-0 Big West) got 13 kills each from Jade Vorster and Ashley Kastl in winning their 11th in a row. Ali Longo had 21 digs and Kastl added 19. 

Alex Reid led the 49ers (11-10, 6-4) with 20 kills. Libby Fontanilla and Janisa Johnson each had 24 digs. 

Hawaii finishes its road trip at UC Irvine Saturday.
