Hawaii sweeps UC Santa Barbara in volleyball

Croson returns from suspension, addes 19 digs

Emily Hartong put down 11 kills and Jane Croson returned from a month-long suspension with a season-high 19 digs as No. 9 Hawaii swept UC Santa Barbara 25-8, 25-19, 25-18 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Jade Vorster added nine kills and Croson eight for the Rainbow Wahine (20-2, 13-0 Big West), who won their 14th straight. Croson had not played since Sept. 29, missing seven matches while suspended for breaking unspecified team rules.

Leah Sully led the Gauchos (13-13, 6-5) with seven kills.

The match lasted 83 minutes. 

Hawaii next hosts Cal Poly Saturday at 7 p.m.
