Waialae Avenue reopens to traffic after car downs power lines

Honolulu police have reopened Waialae Avenue to west-bound traffic and east-bound traffic is being contraflowed between 8th and 9th Avenues as crews continue repairs to downed power lines resulting from a traffic accident.

Honolulu police arrested the driver in the accident, which occurred around 2:00 a.m. this morning, according to Hawaii News Now.

An Emergency Medical Services supervisor said it did not appear that there were serious injuries from the crash.
