High surf advisory extended through tonight

A high surf advisory has been extended for east-facing shores on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii island and Kauai through 6 p.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said beachgoers can expect surf up to 8 feet.
The swell is expected to dissipate Thursday morning.
