Man arrested for allegedly attacking man with knife in Waianae

Police arrested a man in his 40s Friday night for allegedly attacking a 24-year-old man with a kitchen knife in Waianae, according to police dispatch.

The man was in serious condition after receiving an 8-inch cut to his head. He reportedly was also hit with a metal pipe and a wooden stick, according to Emergency Medical Services radio transmission.

Paramedics responded to the attack at about 8:30 p.m. Friday at a Helelua Street address. 

The 24-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious condition, authorities said.
