Hawaiian Air, Virgin America deal benefits travelers

Effective today, members of Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles program can redeem miles toward travel on all Virgin America routes, while members of Virgin’s Elevate frequent flyer program also will be able to redeem points for travel on Hawaiian.

Through the cooperative marketing agreement announced today, travelers will notice Hawaiian Airlines’ two-letter booking code on Virgin America flights to Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Washington D.C.’s IAD airport; New York’s JFK; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Chicago; Philadelphia; Portland, Oregon; Seattle and San Francisco.

Both airlines will check customers’ bags through to their final destinations and will issue boarding passes at initial check-in for connecting flights on either airline.
