Two men are in custody after allegedly trying to extort money from a woman for property that was stolen from her last week.

The theft apparently occurred on Nov. 6.

Police said the money was paid Wednesday and two men, ages 26 and 44, were arrested later in the day at a Sheridan Street bar.

Both men were arrested on first-degree extortion charges with the 26-year-old Kaimuki man also being held on suspicion of fourth-degree theft.

You should leave, for your safety. The rest of the world is very safe. Only dangerous in Hawaii. That's what you're always insinuating.....right? No one believes you when you're so paranoid about living in Hawaii. You should go back to North Dakota, where you'll feel safe.

Hawaii is light on these type of crimes. They'll probably get only probation and then be back to their old ways. I suspect they already have a long rap sheet. Now, these are the type of criminals I would like to see on the registry as it is a way to further punish offenders.
