Power restored at Kahala Mall, surrounding neighborhood

A power outage left the Whole Foods side of Kahala Mall and about 1,000 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers without power for more than 2 hours Friday afternoon.
The outage began about 2:30 p.m. because an underground cable stopped working, said HECO spokesman Darren Pai.
Power was restored at about 4:45 p.m., Pai said.
