The 3-year-old boy who fell Thursday evening from a second-story window in Kaneohe has been upgraded to stable condition, authorities said.

The boy was a Marine dependent living on base housing at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

The accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the MCBH public affairs said in a written response.

Military police and the Federal Fire Department responded to the emergency, and the patient was transported to the Queen’s Medical Center, the base said. Emergency Medical Services officials said they were not involved in the transport, but the boy was reported initially in serious condition.

The boy was transferred Friday to the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in stable condition, the base said.
