Teen sex offender charged with assault and escape after fleeing facility

A 16-year-old boy, who escaped from a juvenile sex offender treatment facility in Pearl City Sunday night, has been charged with escape and second-degree assault.
The youth escaped at 7:52 p.m. Sunday and turned himself in the following day.
